Dear industry peers,
Bulgaria, Slovakia and Lithuania have already shut down 9 nuclear units and started decommissioning with the fund supported by European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Due to lack of experience, most of these decommissioning projects have been delayed, which to some extent resulted in additional cost or other risks.
Horia Hulubei National Institute of Physics and Nuclear Engineering (IFIN-HH) from Romania will share their experiences in Nuclear Decommissioning & Waste Management of VVRS Research Reactor at the Central & Eastern Europe Decommissioning & Waste Management Conference 2016, December 8-9, Sofia, Bulgaria
Founded in 1949, IFIN-HH posesses rich experiences in nuclear decommissioning and waste management. R&D activities range from theoretical physics, nuclear engineering issues to training in nuclear activities, including the Radioactive Waste Treatment & Disposal and Decommissioning of Nuclear Facilities.
